For graduates of the Family Backpacking Training Series, these longer backcountry outings will lead you to new places even further off the beaten path.

Family Friendly, 5-night Backcountry Trip
Cottonwood Lakes, Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains
July 12-17, 2016
Soak in the pristine beauty of the high mountain landscapes. Explore the remote John Muir Wilderness with confidence! Enjoy the pace and discovery of hiking with kids in the backcountry… with trusted leaders in the field of nature connection and adventure.

Due to permitting limitations in this remote wilderness area, there are only 10 participant spots open for this trip. All participants must have backpacking experience.
June 2016 Pre-trip meeting
July 12 Car camping, Horseshoe Meadow Campground
July 13-17 Hike in to Cottonwood Lakes, four nights in the backcountry

All ages welcome, same price for infants as adults due to the permit limitations set by Inyo National Forest.
