Toddlers in the Garden

Dig your hands into rich garden soil with your toddler with experienced gardeners and nature connection mentors. Grow delicious organic vegetables from seed, learn to develop healthy soil and compost, and make nutritious snacks with the living food you harvest. Give your child a rich outdoors experience every week NOW while their brains and bodies are developing.

This is a great introduction to outdoor learning in a fun and engaging environment with other toddlers and nature-loving parents. Every class will follow a rhythmic structure that will hold and support the young children (and adults). In addition to gardening, there will be guided nature walks on local trails and beaches, art-making, singing, game-playing, and oral story-telling. Come prepared to explore and adventure with your little one!

Classes are located in south Orange County for toddlers 1-3 years old with his/her parent or caregiver. Each seasonal session is 6 weeks long: Autumn, Winter, and Spring.

Parents will need to bring a sun hat, sunscreen, water, healthy snack. Younger siblings are welcome with attentive parent supervision and at the discretion of the instructor.

The rhythm of the day will include opening and closing circles full of song and movement, nature connection activities and spontaneous discoveries. Adult participants will be asked to arrive ready to fully engage in the activities, song circles and to model active participation.
