Primitive Skills, Nature Connection and Interpersonal Communication
Training for educators and parents who work with children and teens outdoors.

Next Educators in Nature Training Date TBD

Earthroots hosted its first “Educators in Nature” Training August 16-18, 2017. The workshop provided an opportunity for us to get outside and enhance our skills to be more effective in working with youth and teens outdoors.

Jon Young once said to me, “You can only be as effective mentoring others in nature as you yourself are connected to nature.”

Whether you run your own nature preschool, are a teacher, lead scouts in your community on camping trips, chaperone a field trip with your child’s school, or work as a naturalist… this training will give you both hard and soft skills to deepen your own connection with nature, enabling you to be a more effective mentor.

This three day intensive training is offered for adults who work with children and teens outdoors professionally or in community building capacities. Participants will be mentored by Earthroots staff and guest instructors in bird language, plant identification and uses, tracking, awareness games, fire by friction, communicating challenging topics with parents, and more. Come willing to grow your edges while being outdoors all day with kind hearted peers.

Thanks for all you do,
Jodi Levine-Wright
Founder, Earthroots Field School
