Once upon a time, a kind-hearted fairy named Lyra fluttered down to Big Oak Canyon and instantly fell in love with its wild beauty. Wanting to share its magic, she created a special day camp just for curious, adventurous children.

Now, with the help of beloved Earthroots instructor Raz, Lyra invites young campers to follow her fairy trail through the canyon. Guided by Raz, children will begin their day with a magical treasure hunt, exploring hidden nooks, uncovering natural wonders, and following clues left by the fairy herself.

Along the way, we’ll learn about the rich history of Big Oak Canyon and meet the plants, creatures, and tiny forest mysteries that make it so enchanting. At each stop, we’ll gather nature treasures and use them to craft a spellbinding backpack charm—a magical keepsake to carry home.

With curiosity as our compass and nature as our guide, we’ll end the day with joyful hearts, earthy hands, and the sense that Fairy Lyra is smiling down on us.

Raz Allen

Throughout her life, Raz has been a girl scout, Marine and an advocate/fundraiser for outdoor/natural causes. She is a Reiki Master/Teacher/Intuitive, Certified Massage Therapist, and avid tree hugger! Some call her MacGyver, because she will always find a way to make things work!

Raz lived in California, for the first time, as a young person, where she found out how wonderful the outdoors could be. Her family frequently visited many natural places, including Sequoia every six months, local beaches and road trips into the once vast open space of Orange County. She always loved to learn on nature walks, play outside and especially climb trees/ walls of her Tustin neighborhood.
