Earthroots has acquired Big Oak Canyon! There are many people who have made this dream come true. Thank you all very much.

“To be able to host programs on our own property is a dream come true. Tending land that will be nurtured and cared for as our own for generations to come will continue to bring deep educational impact to our region.”
– Jodi Levine, Founding Director Earthroots

“We love Big Oak Canyon. The creek is my favorite place to explore.”
-Forest Kindergarten Family, Spring 2018

The Site: This 39-acre property, called Big Oak Canyon, borders Cleveland National Forest, which opens to 424,000 acres of hiking trails and natural resources. Big Oak Canyon is rugged and is comprised of a variety of native ecosystems. It also has three pre-developed graded terraces for staging our nature connection activities. Springwater flows year-round on-site and the property accesses a creek! Mature fruit trees are growing in an established orchard.

To complete the purchase, Earthroots has raised $130,000, with $30,000 still due. We appreciate any assistance you can give us to reach this goal.
All donations are tax-deductible.
Naming opportunities are available for donations of $5000 and greater.

The Vision: Earthroots’ vision is to create an educational working farm in the current orchard area of this property and to leave the wild areas wild. Natural and sustainable living practices will be actualized and taught so that all who come will see examples of living in balance with nature. In all of our actions, we will strive towards regenerating beneficial relationships between the earth, animals, plants & human communities.

Imagine: Click on the image to the left to see how the Earthroots Community is enjoying Big Oak Canyon.  Imagine what we can do and who would benefit in 1 year… in 10 years… in 50 years… in 200 years. Together we can make that vision become a reality.

Earthroots capital campaign has begun. We are seeking private donors, institutional funders, matching funds, grants, and corporate sponsorship.

Consider donating $150 right now or be part of the purchase at any giving level.
