Spend a peaceful day in nature while your child dives into the magical world of puppet-making! In this hands-on, one-day workshop, kids will learn to sew their own simple cloth puppet in a relaxed, supportive outdoor setting.
Led by experienced instructor Raz, the day is all about slowing down, using your hands, and tapping into your imagination. The gentle rhythm of sewing is not only creative—it’s a soothing way to relax the mind and body.
Once their puppet is complete, kids will have the option to further personalize it. Raz will offer both oral and written tips on how to add facial features and clothing once they’re home.
All materials to make one stringed puppet are included. Clothing not included.
Why Puppets?
Puppets have captured hearts for generations—and for good reason. They spark creativity, encourage storytelling, and help children express themselves in fun and meaningful ways.
This workshop gives kids the time and space to focus, create something with their hands, and leave with a handmade puppet they’ll be proud of.

Meet the Instructors
Raz Allen
Throughout her life, Raz has been a girl scout, Marine and an advocate/fundraiser for outdoor/natural causes. She is a Reiki Master/Teacher/Intuitive, Certified Massage Therapist, and avid tree hugger! Some call her MacGyver, because she will always find a way to make things work!
Raz lived in California, for the first time, as a young person, where she found out how wonderful the outdoors could be. Her family frequently visited many natural places, including Sequoia every six months, local beaches and road trips into the once vast open space of Orange County. She always loved to learn on nature walks, play outside and especially climb trees/ walls of her Tustin neighborhood.
