Earthroots provides scholarships to ensure we reflect an enriching learning environment with a variety of family income levels and diverse backgrounds within our programs. We currently offer two types of scholarships.
Needs-Based Scholarships
Through generous donations, Earthroots provides scholarships to families who could otherwise not attend our programs. We determine the number of scholarships awarded, along with the award amount by donations provided and the number of applications received for each program. We consider applications based on the level of need.
NOTE: If you are applying on behalf of a student for one of our classes or camps, please fill out the STUDENT application. If you are an adult wanting to apply for a scholarship for an upcoming workshop or conference, please fill out the ADULT application.
BIPOC Scholarships
Earthroots offers BIPOC scholarships to lift and strengthen the voices of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in the field of nature connection.
Earthroots acknowledges that Black, Indigenous, and People of Color face varying types of discrimination and prejudice in our country, are three times more likely than white people to live in places that have no immediate access to nature, and are less represented in outdoor recreation activities. This scholarship aims to contribute to the well-being of the individuals it serves through removing barriers that limit access to nature connection.
We determine the number of scholarships awarded by donations provided and the number of applications received. If we receive more BIPOC Scholarship applicants than we have spaces available, we add recipient names to a lottery and draw at random. In the event we do not award you a BIPOC Scholarship and you would like to be considered for a Needs Based Scholarship, please also fill out a separate Needs Based Scholarship Application.
NOTE: If you are applying on behalf of a student for one of our classes or camps, please fill out the STUDENT application. If you are an adult wanting to apply for a scholarship for an upcoming workshop or conference, please fill out the ADULT application.

- One semester-long program per school year
- Up to 5 single day programs per calendar year
- One week of summer camp per year
Applicants may re-apply one calendar year after their last application date. In order to share this opportunity with as many people as possible, we give priority to first time scholarship applicants.
Please contact us if you are interested in applying for a scholarship beyond these limitations. We will assess our scholarship fund capabilities.
At Earthroots Field School, no person shall be subjected to discrimination on the basis of actual or perceived disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law, nor for association with a person or group with one or more of these characteristics.
