Forest Kindergarten Summer Camp

Who: Children ages 3-6, attending with a parent or caregiver
When: Tuesdays & Thursdays June 3, 5, 10, 12 | 9:00-1:00pm

In Forest Kindergarten, nature is the teacher. Earthroots instructors are skilled mentors who guide children into deep, meaningful, outdoor play, while providing hands-on, inquiry based explorations in nature. This summer version of Forest Kindergarten will have the same components of our regular Forest Kindergarten program.

Ancestral Skills Camp

Who: Children ages 8-14
When: Monday, June 23 – Thursday, June 26 | 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Join us for this 4-day camp to learn many of the ancestral skills and practices people have used for thousands of years. Enjoy the beauty of Big Oak Canyon while engaging in fun activities like animal tracking, shelter building, bird language and cordage making, caring for the Earth and harvesting her abundance with gratitude.

Land Detective Summer Camp

Who: Children ages 6 -10
When: Tuesday, June 17 – Friday, June 20 | 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Immerse your child in the wonders of nature at the Land Detective Summer Camp! This fun camp filled with hands-on experiences invites children to slow down and deeply connect with the natural world. Set in the beauty of Big Oak Canyon, campers will engage in nature journaling, animal tracking, bird language activities, mapping, and plant medicine activities—all while fully immersed in the sights, sounds, and rhythms of nature.

Summer Solstice Hike

Who: Ages 14 and up
When: Saturday, June 21 | 8:00 – 11:00 am

Join Earthroots lead instructor and California Naturalist, Macy Pilkington, for a guided hike through the stunning hills of the Santa Ana Mountains! Explore scenic trails in a small, intimate group, connect with fellow hiking enthusiasts from Orange County, and discover breathtaking new views. The hike will begin at Big Oak Canyon, leading into Cleveland National Forest.
